New Fundraising Efforts

Over the past few weeks, multiple fundraising efforts have either started or been completed to benefit our trip!

First: I want to thank Mrs. Ploof for organizing a 5k Race that brought in over $1,200 for the trip! This was a huge success. A big thank you to all the volunteers!

Second: During parent teacher conferences this week, the Nova team is selling baked goods to benefit the Washington Trip. Thank you Nova Team!!!

Finally, last week, eighth grade students brought home calendars to sell. They make $5 for each calendar that they sell. This money will be credited towards each students' individual account. Instructions were given out included in the box of calendars that each student brought home. Good Luck!

The trip is coming soon! We can't wait!

In other news, the magazine drive is off to a successful start. That ends on November 5th.

Finally, our calendars have arrived! We will be sending students home with some calendars to sell during the week prior to Thanksgiving. The date that these will be available has not been solidified.

Time to Get Started

It's that time of year! The Essex Middle School 8th Grade is beginning to think about their trip to Washington. Planning for the trip has already been happening for nearly 5 months, and we have a lot in store for the remainder of the year.

We decided to start this blog so that our students can share what they are doing on the trip with their parents while we are on the trip. While we are gone, we are going to try and upload a new entry every night with pictures of places we've gone and of things that we've seen. Surely, it will be an exciting experience.

Please check back often. I will be posting updates regarding the trip here and on Edline so you will be in the loop.

I look forward to a great year and a great trip!!
